MP HC: Higher education principal secretary summone 1/8/2009 The Madhya Pradesh High Court has summoned Principal Secretary (Higher Education) Sevaram on January 30 in connection with a Contempt of court case. The High Court yesterday directed the Principal Secretary (Higher Education) to appear before the court and explain the reason for not providing No-Objection Certificate (NoC) to a para-medical college despite court order. In its petition, Swayamprabha Medical College had alleged that the Principal Secretary (Higher Education) did not issue NoC despite being approved by the Medical Education department. Even, the court had issued directions in this regard. The petitioner told the court that the institute had applied for NoC for opening college and getting affiliation from university after completing all formalities. The application was rejected by the Higher Education Commissioner. The decision was upheld by the Principal Secretary (Higher Education), who filed an affidavit before the court on December 29, describing the step taken by the department as appropriate. This came under the contempt of court. UNI
