A PIL petition filed for cancellation of work allotment to a private company by Life Insurance corporation of India for Food Meal Coupon Scheme has been dismissed by the Honble Rajasthan High Court Jaipur Bench. The Court also imposed an exemplary cost of Rs. 50000/- on the petitioner society. The counsel for the petitioner society Mr. Mahendra Singh Contend that the LIC has not followed the CVC guidelines and the work contract has been awarded on nomination basis to the Sudexo Company. And the LIC is spending more that 300 Crore Rs of Exchequer.
On the Other hand Mr. R K Agarwal Sr. Advocate appearing with Amit Gupta Advocate for LIC contended that the petition has been filed with ulterior motives, and no public interest is involved in the matter.
After hearing the arguments at length the court dismissed the PIL with cost of Rs. 50000/- Rs.
