Proposal for Setting up of an All India Judicial Service

The Government has a proposal for creation of All India Judicial Service (AIJS). Giving this information in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Shri Salman Khurshid, Minister of Law & Justice said that, however, there is no decision made yet whether the selection of AIJS officers would be made through the Union Public Service Commission as prescribed under Article 320 of the Constitution or through a separate Commission specially constituted for this purpose.
