SC appointed comm recommends cancellation of mining lease to Reddy brothers

Supreme court appointed committee has ruled that Reddy brothers, who were cabinet ministers in Karnataka, have been illegally mining in Andhra Pradesh.

The committee has also recommended that their mining leases should be cancelled.

It has also recommended imposition of fine for violation of lease conditions.

The committee also noted that the officials of Andhra Pradesh govt connived with Reddy brothers.

G janardhan Reddy is the Tourism Minister of Karnataka while his brother Karunakar Reddy is the revenue Minister.

The Bellary based Reddy brothers have been at the centre of controversy following allegations of illegal mining.
