Though voting is a constitutional liability of each citizen, the STATE can not compel the citizen to vote. The citizen can feel - no candidate is meritorious and may not be interested to cast his vote in their favour.

Its,justified, the common man can now freely excercise his power, similarily,a law of right to recall an elected candidate based on his/her performance should also be enacted.

I believe strongly that a bad politician is elected by the good citizen who do not vote. A votor's choice 'No choiceable candidate' should also be added in the ballot paper. -Dilip Kumar Borah, Duliajan,Assam

mandatory voting would be a important step for non voting persons to come up and excercise their right for their future and for the future of the country

People don’t consider voting as their responsibility. If people start to consider nation as their family, only then we can have proper government. So in my opinion the voting should me must. Manoj Kumar

Today people in urban areas do not find time to vote and they show disinterest to vote. They do not understand the importance of it as their right. Hence, I totally agree with the action taken by Gujarat Govt.

Now the trend has reversed, as rural India has become more active and urban India is showing disinterest. When voting will be mandatory, quality of candidates will improve automatically

Mr Sunil has explained the real and practical position in India at present and I fully support his views. No vote for any candidate and no vote should always be differintiate.

We are aware of our fundamental rights but ingnore our fundamental duties. Now a days educated persons also not casting their votes & politician purchasing the vote for Rs.100/200 In a days we found rush at polling booth after 4pm.bcoz the politictian distributed money & a person who want to sale his vote he wait for money,I'm not saying all person who went for casting their vote they took money but it is fact. casting vote should be made fundamental duties.Who have not cast their vote & if they failed to give sufficient reason why he has not cast the vote? he should be punish in the court of law by imposing fine & in default of fine simple imprisonment. It is for them who wait for money & not cast the vote if they dont get money.
