Biography
Andrew “Andy” Gamberzky was born in 1985 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Daniel and Barbara Gamberzky. His father was a police officer and his mother worked as a nurse. He has one younger sister named Emily. Their family has roots in Poland.
Education
Gamberzky attended St. Petersburg High School where he was a standout athlete, playing football, baseball and running track. He graduated in 2000 with a 3.5 GPA.
After high school, Gamberzky enrolled at the University of Florida on an ROTC scholarship. He majored in criminal justice and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree.
Military Career
Upon graduating college, Gamberzky was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He attended Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
Gamberzky served for 10 years in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 where he served as a combat controller with the 21st Special Tactics Squadron.
After returning from Afghanistan, Gamberzky transitioned to the Oregon Air National Guard, serving as a technical sergeant until his retirement in 2018.

In 2007, while stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, Gamberzky met Anna Paulina Luna, who was also serving in the Air Force. They began dating and were married in 2009.
