affidavit

if a person makes a change of surname through affidavit , by what surname he will sign in the affidavit - the old surname or the new surname

New Surname

New Sirname obviously as that will be his current sirname at that time.

With the old surname.

Because only after making affidiavit, he gets the new surname.

Generally, when you give public notice for name change, it will be pulished under old name and only after publication you get new name.

When name is changed through government gazette notification, in the relevant affidiavit you are required to sign your old name, as per rule.
