documents

dear all

i live in karnataka, taluka place. i am trying to get documents from Taluka survey department pertaining to 1964 and 1980 regarding boundaries fixed etc. but the department is saying those maps are stored for only 5 years and then they are destroyed. i heard from other clerk that all documents are stored in district place store and i may get those docs. 

are documents destroyed

is RTI mine best wepon ? plaese help

They are clever, for my RTI query they answered as  "File not traceable".

RTI will be the better tool.

moreoever you can file an appeal to the authoroty also.
