Joint Name in Property Purchase Agremment

Dear Sir ,

I intent in registering my property in Joint Name of me and my wife. However the problem is we have not registered our marriage. Due to this how do we mention our name in the property agreement.

My Name: Ankit Narendra Shah
Wife Name: Pooja Jagdish Shah

Do i mention her maiden name or post marriage name(No proof for this)

In the agreement should i show her as my wife or not. I would like to confirm this since in the loan agreement with the bank i have updated status as married.

Sir, though registration of marriage is compulsory, I think there are other evidences to show you and your wife are a couple. In what name she has got her election ID, ration card, licence or bank account etc..? You can use the same name while registering your joint property also. And I would like to ask you why dont you get your marriage registered at least now..?

purchase in name PUJA NAARENDRA SHAH. election card driving licence may be having this name.

I think it is also advisable to register in both the names of your wife, ie. in the maiden name alias her name after marrying you. Then, I think there will be no issue.

U have to enclose Photo id proof along with sale deed so mention the same name as it may it be ration card/voter id/pancard
