Dear Team,
This is in TamilNadu...
When I was a minor, my father got a patta for two pieces of land (for two survey numbers). I checked the patta in the TN's Registration Department Portal & the patta reads like this (attached a snap shot)
(Owner's name)
1. A's son B
2. C's son D/E
3. E'2 son D
Note :
1) A is my grandfather
B is my Uncle [My father's elder brother]
C is my father
D is my mother
E is myself
2) My Uncle does not have sons but two daugghters. Daughters are major, married & settled
3) MY Grand father WILL clearly says that, his sons can utilize the land for cultivation but no rights to sell it. But has given the power to his grand sons (only to the partenal grand sons).
4) Apart from this patta & the will, there are no other titles/records available for the two pieces of land.
5) Apart from the two sons my grand father had, he had three daughters
Questions :
1) What do I need to do If I were to legally ensure that the property belongs to me ?
2) What do I do if I want to sell the property ?
