Married women before 1985 right on her fathers property

Dear all,

My mother having 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is the eldest of all. My mothers father has a land on his name( It is self acquired Property of him), not ancestral property. He expired in 1999.My grand mother also expired. He dint left any will. Now my mother brothers are selling the land. My mother got married in 1984.They are offer some money but not the share. Does my mother get the equal share as she is married before 1985 act ?. We are from Andhra Pradesh state.

What about the amendment act 2005 Hindu Succession says. Can my mother asks for equal share as it is self acquired property of my grand father?

Please help us.

Regards

Bhargav

thanks sir,

But as per 2005 act, irrespective of martial status women are provided with right on fathers property. Also the property is selling now in 2012, that means we have to share the property now. I have seen a forum similar to my problem saying that she is getting a share in her fathers property even she is married in 1976.

Can u please clarify me clearly
