Property purchased from minor

Dear All,

I have purchased flat at thane last year. The problem i am facing now is that the flat previously was jointly owned by Father (previous owner) and his minor 7 year daughter.

At the time of purchasing flat my loan banker told that it is fine to purchase the property even though it is jointly owned by minor as father is having power to dispose the same on behalf of minor.

But few days back someone told me that on becoming adult the minor daughter can claim the flat back as sale deed is voidable. No previous approval was taken from court for selling property in this case.

can you please help in clarifying the issue & future course of action

Regards

Mann Singh

Thanks Sridhar,

Can she claim full or part of property as she is joint owner along with her father (natural guardian) and her father sold flat to me.

Also both are resident of England and stay there.
