Telecom provider right to change tariff !!?

The Telecom providers are increasing their tariff and no consumer protection act can stop this exploitation. No consumer forums are finding an solution to this .

An costumer  purchases  the service of an telecom service provider seeing the tariff s offered by him and he next day it increase . When he try an dispute with the service provider he gets an answer that “they have the right to change the tariff any time “ and costumers has no right to question it .

What are the possible solutions to this problem ?

What is so wrong about? TRAI is the regulatory authority. And It does't apply to Post paid connection because you enter into a contract wherein you are offered a plan and you take it....Pre paid is when liable for price fluctuation that too depends on what activation plan you take......

Who has stated ““they have the right to change the tariff any time “ and costumers has no right to question it .”

The calls are recorded by telecom companies.

Make it a habit to record the calls made to service providers, and involve local BM of the company.

Lodge a complaint with Nodal Officer/appellate authority and then forward it to the company secretary of the company whose contact details you shall find on the web site of the company. You may also forward the copies to Consumer Organizations listed with TRAI and also near you in your city and media.

Demand compensation. Tame and Shame such companies.

If the increase in tariff is arbitrary lodge a police complaint

Order by TRAI is:

Section II

2. Under Section III (Tariffs for Telecommunication Services) of the

Telecommunication Tariff Order, 1999 " in Clause 6 (Flexibility and Packages),

following sub-clauses shall be added after sub-clause(iv):

(v) A tariff plan once offered by an Access Provider shall be available to a

subscriber for a minimum period of SIX MONTHS from the date of

enrolment of the subscriber to that tariff plan.

The telecom company is under obligation to inform the consumer on change in tariff plan. Customer is at liberty to reject. If you are not agreeable to change use MNP {Mobile Number Portability} and switch the service provider. Deprive them of the business. Slap them with loss of business and legal notice. This is the language they understand.

If the company is making statements I like posted by you encourage all near and dear ones, acquaintances, colleagues, to switch.

It has been tried in localities, welfare societies. All members negotiate for best deal and in case of any deficiency or issues all negotiate with next available choice for the best deal. If Airtel throws tantrums the members negotiate with Connect or Idea. All of them come with best deals.

Take advantage of choice in the market.
