About filing petition into the court...

Hello Sir/Mam, I am a law student...I want to know that whenever we have to file any petition into the court..then,how exactly we draft the petition and how we have to reply to the opponents response into the court. means...is there any procedural book available through which we come to know about criminal and civil proceedings (like in matrimonial,land,property....matters...)how exacltly,case procedures take place..step by step....!!! Please, clarify me...I will be grateful...!!! Thanks in advanced...!!!
