Accused preferred jail to pay maintenance amount

One lady filed for a Maintenance Case for herself and her minor child against her husband in the Criminal Court in Hyderabad. After 4 years of hearings, the Court has given verdict in favour of the lady. As per Court Order, the accused husband was directed to pay certain  lumpsum amount besides monthly payment as  maintenance to the lady. However, the accused  failed to oblige court orders, consequently he was arrested. The Hon’ble judge has awarded him one month imprisonment.

Now my query is, will the accused only spend one month in jail and thereafter will be out of jail? If so, what the reliefs the lady will get for she has fought for four years in the court for maintenance of herself and her child?. Kindly clarify.

He stay in jail till he clear dues. Lady has to pay 100 rs per day to jail authorities for maintenance of her husband. Once dues are cleared he will be let out of jail by magistrate.

Really? Since when did jails became Holiday Inn or the State/exchequer burden of maintaining the inmates came to be passed on to complainants/victims?

OP after one month, he'll be out of jail, only to go back to jail again if he doesn't pay up the matrimonial ransom, and so on and so forth.
