Credit card outstanding on a credit card that i never used / never had.

Dear Members / Experts,

I recently applied for a personal load which was rejected by Tata Capital. And the reason I was told, that my credi score as per CIBIL is 614. This left me shocked.

When I went online to check my score, I am now being informed that I am wilful defaulter of a credit card (which I never requested for and never reicveid and never used, from Indus Ind Bank) with a balance of 5L of rupees :( . And this card is from Indus Ind Bank.

I never had any relation whatsoever with this bank, never requested for any credit card, never received any credit card and never used one.

Not sure how this bank has listed as a wilful defaulter.

What is the legal way / process to address this? Please provide guidance - thanks in advance.

Before thinking about legal way, better first approach the bank and discuss with them the problem and ascertain from them what is the exact position.  Then only the question of taking any legal action, if at all, would arise.

Thank you for guidance. I have sent nodal officer of the bank an email requesting their intervention and assisance on this matter.

Anything else I must do at this time? Do I have to inititae any legal proceedings as well? I ask this query because with this negligence from the bank, my CIBIL rating is affected :(
