Expectations from new CJI

The new CJI, Honorable Mr. Justice Sarosh Homi Kapadia has been associated with 771 judgments of the supreme court since December 18, 2003 when he sworn in as a judge of the apex court.  He is known for his knowledge of taxation and commercial laws and  has repeatedly said in the recent past that judges and lawyers at all level should be abreast of the taxation and commercial laws. He has also disclosed that he comes from a poor family and started his carrier as class IV employee. His other interests are public finance, theoretical physics, Hindu and Buddhist philosophies.

Now, we can expect that in judicial approaches there will be better balance between concepts of welfare state vis a vis  economic and scientific   progress competing with global environment.

I agree with Dr. V.N Tripathi as the CJI is prohificient in taxation and commercial laws more initiatives will be on the accountability of assets and liabilities of the countries resources.

All CJI are great and Learned, we can Judge them only by their perfomance as CJI. Congratulations to our new CJI.

His socialist approach on first day -

In a matter relating to revival of a sick unit, the CJI made it clear that all workers who had lost their jobs had to be accommodated first and permission to commence production would be given only on this condition. "We will see that workers do not lose their jobs," he said.

Dear Dr.V.N.Tripathi, in Saluting our new CJI, let me say this " Of  Those To whom Much is Given, Much Is required"

Mr. Asher Mohan,

Here is an information available on a blogsite:

"....He joined Gagrat & Co, a law firm as a clerk and later, went to work for firebrand and highly respected labour lawyer Feroze Damania. Soon after, the family moved to Andheri. There, in the neighbouring building lived a young girl, Shahnaz, with whom Kapadia fell in love. She became Mrs Kapadia. They were to have two sons...."
