harbouring of criminals

Can accused file the case against the P.O. on the grounds of Harbouring of Criminals?

If he has sufficient evidence and proofs with him against the P.O.

What are the Provisions for instituting the case against the Police Officer.

What precautions does needed to be taken?

Yes Mr. Vijay,

Constitution of India provide equality before law for every one.  Whether he is a simple citizen or else one.  Rather the police personal is duty bound to obey the law in its letters in spirits as they are the custodian of  law and orders.  If you have foolproof evidence.  This Police man can certainly be booked for -:

a/  harbouring of criminals punishable in accordance with provisions of section 336 and other provisons of

     IPC

b/    He can be booked under departmental enquiry  for abusing his prestigious duties;

c/    for other offences as per the facts and circumstances of the case under criminal law;

d/     Take precautions to firstly send a CD to media,  take  the senior police officials into confidence;

        move anticicorruption department, if possible to the concerned ministry; CBI officials etc.etc. so as to book the official red handed...

keep on with this effort so as to bring the cat out of the bag.   We all should expose them so as to bring the crime to a lower lavel.

Thanks... DKChhabra
