Hiring of Temporary Staff

Hi all !
I am new to this forum and very excited to be a part of this Forum.

I have a question..
I am working for an MNC which has decided to recruit 70 Temporary staff for six months, to complete a project. Until now we have hired employees on permanent basis only. Is there any procedure/ formalities that has to be completed before taking employees on a temporary basis ? Should they be covered in the contract Labour Act, though we are recruiting them directly without a Contractor in between ? Should we maintain separate registers for them ?

Regards,
Priya Mary

Dear Priya If you want to hire them as contract labour, then you need to get a registration number from local labour department and after that only you can hire them. For contract labour you need to have a contractor in beteen else wise it can come under sham contract which is very dangerous. So best way is hire them on FTC basis that is fixed term contract.
