Legal heir certificate/succession certificate

Dear Sir, We are the residents of Banaswadi area in Bangalore. My two sons jointly bought an apartment in Marathhalli and now one son is passed away. The deceased son has wife and two children of age 6 and 2 yrs. Can you please suggest me whether Legal heir certificate is enough to get the Katha transferred to my daughter-in-law’s name or Succession certificate is required? Also please tell me whether it’s required to get the Katha to be transferred to daughter-in-law and two children’s name.

Thanks in advance

Actually it depends the acceptance of the official of the revenue authority, at some place the legal heir certificate is enought, contcat the revenue authority for transfer and know the document required,  but getting a succession certificate will be a better option for future.
