ownership of land

The suit property is ancestral property of my client. The property was enjoyed by way of hereditary and was not alienated. Originally is contained a house and due to efflux of time it had fallen down (in 1998). My client has got house tax receipts from 1960 t0 1998, EC from 1956 to till date and 10(1) account copy--all these documents in his name only. Now a stranger claims that the property belongs to his father and he got that property through EP court proceedings in 1975, but no such event took place and all the records are in my clients name. Eventhough the stranger's father had got that property, what is the time limit to transfer the registration of  the property in his name? Is there anny judgements? Kindly give your views............
