Registering under special marriage act

Hi,

I just want to clarify a few questions regarding a situation under the special marriage act.

The boy is a christian and the girl is a muslim. Understandably, the girl's family is against the intercaste marriage. Therefore, they have decided to get married in court or before the sub registrar (?). The boy and the girl are from different districts within the same state. Upon enquiry, we got to know that the marriage should be registered under the special marraige act. They are planning to get registered in the boy's place.

Now, the concerns are these:

1. The registrar office in the boy's place will be contacting the office in the girl's place. This is the information the registrar office gave. Is it true?

2. If the above information is true, will the office in the girl's place conact or inform the girl's family for any kind of formality?

3. Also, if such a contact between the two offices will be made, does it imply that the girl will have to fill a form and put up a photo in the office at her place?

Awaiting a quick response.

Thank you.

Sarah.
