Relating to sale of pharma products

I would like to know with regard to businesses like amway.. Amway sells its products via distributors being the common man... It sells products of Nutralite which comprise of health supplements.. The distributors are the recruited from all fields.... I understand that there are some drugs which are permitted to be sold only by doctors and that retailers will have to maintain and sell drugs in a certain manner.. This manner of door to door sale of health supplements (drugs) does it legally by pass the normal retail method , which was thought to be the only method for sale of drugs on the inception of regulations and laws governing sale of drugs..Legally where does the common man stand? Is he subject to prosecution or amway?

Must a distributor for amway get a license to sell such products?
