Should there be Reservation in Private Sector?

Dear Friends,

There is a provision for reservation of backward classes in the government and public sector enterprises. While the question of equity between classes and fair chance to all has been in debate for a long time, a parallel debate on whether there should be reservation in the private sector is brewing in the communities in India. Do you think the government should make provisions for reservations in the private sector or not?

Thanks & Regards,

Dr Neera Bharihoke

There is only 1 sector that recognises the ability & capability of a wise man/woman. We dont want any kind of reservations at least in private sector or else, alike the government sector, backward classes will take away the lead position in the light of reservations and the real talent will be de motivated in the bargain.

Hence I personally would definitely oppose such kind of reservations.

Companies like Tata are falling prey to this chronic political trap. This is an issue worth debating but unless the major political parties have the will power and courage no change could be expected. Recall the outcry during the great VP Singh regime crushed ruthless!!!

Reservations in educational institutions have already taken away the eligibility of many capable students who are meritorious than students who get admission through reservations. I would not suggest reservations in Pvt sector which will snatch away the employment opportunity for the students who have degrees through general category with all efforts facing tough competition too.

What happened to the "farsightedness" of the framers of the Constitution who said reservation for 10 years only? Do corrupt netas, babus and contractors take shelter under the Constitution?
