Both parties should give notice for marriage to the Marriage Officer in the prescribed form and after one month period both get married by the Marriage Officer in presence of 3 witnesses, marriage is registered and copy of marriage certificate issued to them which is valid proof of their marriage. Marriage Officer is usually the Deputy Commissioner of the District or his next subordinate where both or one of the party lives for not less than one month. Contact the District Office of the district and take necessary steps.

thanks a lot... Is a marriage ceremony is necessary for obtaining the validity of such marriage?

No. The Marriage under the Special Marriage Act,1954 is valid marriage by itself no other ceremony required, just enjoy the married life.
