For any civil claim, limitation act is applicable unless specifucally excluded. For criminal offence, limitation act is no applicable.

The Law of Limitation governs every field. Hence the calim is to be enforced with the sitpulated time of limitation.

One more thing is right to sue may be lost under law of limitation. There is no time limit to recover the amount.

Thanks for the responses.  I am afraid I did not frame the question correctly which should be Is there time limit on the part of the Government in recovering statutory dues?  For example if there is any Sales Tax due to Government the liability continues in perpetuity?  Thank you

Venkat
