Apple india's return process is an absolute disaster 🚨 (₹2 lakh macbook pro issue)

I recently purchased a ₹2,00,000 MacBook Pro from the Apple India Online Store apple.com/in, only to receive a defective unit. I documented the issue with video and photographic evidence and contacted Apple for a replacement. Apple approved the request—but only after I returned the defective unit first.

Now, here’s where Apple's process completely fails at basic consumer protection and security:

*Major Security Flaws in Apple's Return Process

1. No Product Verification During Pickup!
The delivery agent did NOT check the contents of the package before taking it. He simply picked it up without confirming what was inside. For a ₹2 lakh product, this is beyond reckless.

2. Apple Provides Zero Written Accountability!
After seeing this shocking negligence, I immediately contacted Apple Support via phone and live chat, asking:

What if the courier mishandles or steals the product?

What if Apple later claims they received an empty or damaged box?

Apple’s response? "Don't worry, it's Apple—nothing will happen." No official confirmation, no written liability, just vague verbal assurances. Absolutely unacceptable.

3. Apple Refused to Provide Any Formal Return Acknowledgment.
I explicitly asked for written proof that they take responsibility for the product once it leaves my hands. They outright refused.

* A ₹2 Lakh Device, Yet No Security Measures?

Apple expects customers to blindly trust that the return process will go smoothly, without any safeguards in place. But what happens if:

The courier swaps the MacBook with a dummy product before delivery?

Apple later claims they received an empty box and refuses the replacement?

The package is lost or stolen in transit, leaving me with no proof of what was inside?

* Pure Negligence & Deficiency in Service!

I verified the return waybill number on the courier’s app before handing it over.

The courier himself admitted, "If anything happens, my job will be in danger." That’s not my concern—Apple and its logistics partner should be accountable!

Apple has no robust return verification policy for high-value products, which is shocking for a company of this scale.

* Legal Action – Can I Sue Apple for This?

Even if I receive my replacement, this entire experience has been completely unacceptable. Apple India and its logistics provider have acted with gross negligence, causing:
> Deficiency in service (No proper security for returns).
> Unfair trade practices (Refusing to provide written accountability).
> Mental harassment (Forcing customers into an insecure, high-risk process).

I am seriously considering filing a consumer court case against Apple India. please guide me how i can sue them for this.

You can discuss with an advocate in local at length and proceed with the proposed consumer complaint against the organisation.
