Application under crpc 173(8)

Hi experts

Is it possible to file an application under crpc 173(8) incase NBW has been issued by the majistrate?Also, police officer of what rank can order further investigation under section 173(8). Is there a time limit from the filing of chargesheet within which the application has to be filed for further investigation?

1. The complainant cannot file application before the court u/s 173(8) Cr.P.C. even if the court has issued N.B.W.

2. The officer in charge of the police station is empowered to conduct further investigation even after filing the charge sheet.

3. There is no prescribed time limit to file charge sheet. It is only when the C.S. is not filed within 90 days then the accused is entitled to seek regular bail by default.
