Assigned land - mutation

Hi, Need your esteem advice on the following matter, Our Grand Father was assigned a piece of land by Govt in 195x, total to 6.2 acres, now after his death the land has been passed on to his two sons no paper work was done in revenue office, now we are 9 grand children want to have the total land distributed among us and have applied for mutation with the local Revenue officer, where as the officer says they cannot give mutation rights to any of the girl child and the total land can be given to only Male Grand children. When asked about under what section or rule, they are just passing on without giving any proper response. Now, request the legal practioners to help us. We are 5 male and 4 female grand children and want to distribute among overselves, how can we proceed. Thanks a lot in advance,

Submit grand father death certificate and required papers to the Tahasildar. Land mutation or property mutation is the recording of the change of title ownership in the revenue records. The transfer of the title of ownership can be done in certain conditions like death of the previous owner, sale/purchase of the property etc. Mutation means alteration in the entries of the revenue records.

By means of mutation, the owner will get the property ownership in his name so that the Government can charge the property tax to the rightful owner. The new owner has to pay the transfer duty on the respected amount. They also require to pay appropriate mutation fee for each apportionment. Mutation is permitted on payment of up-to-date dues, in case if complete plot or building is sold.

Thanks you very much for your reply  Sir, however I am still without clarity on

1.  We have provided all the necessary documents (Death certificate, Legal heir certificate and etc ) to Tahasildar and paid the required fees too.

2. Can mutation be done for a Assigned land? Are Daughters eligible to be rightful owners of this assigned land as per law?

3. Is there any rule/section/ Order restricts the Tahasildar from adding Daughter as rightful owner of this assigned land?

Thanks a lot in advance for your kind advice sir. Look forward for a response.
