Birth certficate

Hi All,

Please help me to proceed further on this.. Thanks.

My wife was born in chennai in the year of 1984, she got a birth certificate but date and name is wrong in the birth certificate, meaning its not matching with all other documents are issued afterwards such as shcool and passport..etc.

Her Father applied gazette to change the name afterwards to reflect her name same link school record, The name is appearing in her school records are in the below format.

<Grandpa Name><Father Name><Her Name>

We are unable to find the copy of gazette notification.

Later stage, she applied for a passport but in her passport name is in the below format.

<Father Name><Her Name>

We now need birth certficate to reflect her name and date of birth same like her passport for immigration purpose, and at the same we also need document to prove that her name in education documents are legitimate.

we are currently not in India..However her parents are in India..We are not sure how to go about it..

Can you please advise how to proceed with this.is't possible to get birth certificate without she visiting India.

Thanks,

Mohan

Fire United States immigration purposes, it suffices to have an affidavit of swirn statement on Indian stamp paper by a parent and a witness during birth that thought name is different, it's the sam ed person. Attach it with the original birth certificate and include in applications.

Hi Sir,

Since her birth certficate has incorrect birth date and name,Can you please suggest what would you advise.Apply new one or correct the existing one?.

Is't still legal, Suppose if we have to apply new one

Thanks,

It is impossible to change her birth certificate with new name or date. Don't worry about what you have in the passport. The passport authority of India won't change them either. But USA and other countries don't really care what you have on the passport. Name on birth certificate is also not important. The date is important along with parents names. So just go ahead and apply immigration paperwork with the date on the current DOB. If it comes for enquiry, explain to them either verbally or written about the mismatch in passport date of birth and real date of birth.
