born christian in india for bc-c christian father

Hi,

I belong to christian family from my forefathers, who converted from hindu back ground. But only I know that I am holding bc-c certificate ( caste as Adi andhra christian) when i was a student. Recently we came from US, now we are getting questions like to enter caste column in schools for my children. We parents parents are baptized and married as per christain law.

Can anyone help me in this regard, to which caste do i mention in school records for children born to christian parents.

Thanks,

David.

In India Christianity is a lateral entry, and even after conversion , they maintain community and caste within christianity. But there is no bar if you avoid mentioning caste in your profile. You can see the Indian christians are demanding equal treatment like Hindu, seiks, and budhdist  counterparts both in education and employment .
