respected learned advocates

I would like to know your valuable views if there is any section or provision in the RTI Act 2005 where in the applicant who received copies from the defendant can verify those documents from the originals to make sure that the copies he received are true not forged and not misleading.

your quick legal views would be appreciated

kind regards

If you are not satisfied with the material sent to you by PIO, you can appeal to the next appeal authority to the PIO within 30 days.

You can request the court to permit you to inspect the court bundle to verify the genuineness of the original documents submitted by the defendant before court,  you will be permitted to inspect them in the court itself.

Please note that the court will not permit the defendant to file photocopies of the documents.

You get copies of documents from a public authority under RTI Act. RTI Act is not for documents in a court case from the defendant.

File another application u/s 6 of RTI Act, 2005 with same SPIO / PIO for inspection and vetting of concerned records.
