My colligue took 4 Lakhs from me on the grounds of father medical treatment and gave me a post dated check . the check bounced and i regstred a case of check bounce. Case is still in process. He is going to USA for 4-5 years. How to stop him, i alos got pro-note written by him for the same amount. He dont have any properties on his name other than one old car under loan.

Court cannot impound the passport but can restrict the accused from leaving the country. However, Passport authorities are empowered under S.10(3)(e) of the Passport act .....
(e) if proceedings in respect of an offence alleged to have been committed by the holder of the passport or travel document are pending before a criminal court in India.
