Hello sir

Having perused enough insurance policies I can assure you this question entirely depends on the contents of what bonds have you signed.

Even if I try at this stage it will be a mere speculation and that may not be accurate.

Hello ma'am,

Covid-specific insurance claims are being rejected on grounds of pre-existing comorbidities, which indicate the presence of one or more additional illnesses along with Covid-19.

While Comorbidities are covered under Corona Rakshak policy, insurers are rejecting many such claims. So, in a situation where a patient needs or needed hospitalisation due to comorbidities that have been worsened or triggered by Covid-19, insurers are likely to reject the claim.

Insurers are denying such claims on the ground that patients have not been impacted directly by Covid-19.

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority has also listed some steps that will help policyholders file complaints with the insurance body. You can file a complaint in the following ways -

1) They can make use of the Integrated Grievance Management System (IGMS) — IRDAI Portal at https://igms.irda.gov.in for registering the complaints themselves and to monitor the status of the complaints.

2) They can send the complaint through email to complaints@irdai.gov.in.

3) They can call toll-free numbers: 155255 or 1800 4254 732.

Hope this helped to solve your query!

Regards
Vrinda
