Divorce mutual consent - waiver of 6 month cooling period

I have already filed the first petition for divorce with mutual consent. What is the procedure to seek waiver from 6 month cooling off period. Both parties want a speedy decree granted.Petition filed at Chennai family court.

No. We can waive the 6months by giving waiver petition after 7days of filing

Jointly move application for waiver of 6 months cooling period in the Family Court where the divorce by mutual consent petition is pending, the presiding judge being satisfied on the ground of urgency as mentioned in your application the cooling period of 6 months will be waived and the divorce finalized. The Supreme Court judgment of 2017 in this regard Amardeep Singh v Harveen Kaur can be referred.
