hi I am a resident of Delhi, I am into debt due to gambling and my wife warns me last time that if I gamble again she will leave me. now my in laws has taken her back to her home from past 2 months.Now her brother threatening me and my family that they will file a dowry case if I don't repay my debt. I have told them I will repay the debt but it will take time to repay it. but they are not listening. also my wife has transferred some amount of money in last two years and the total is 2 lacs of rupees. what should I do in this case. they have given me time for 1 month to repay all the debts else they will come my home and do the hangama and files a dowry case.
I hope you are recording the calls and other evidence that you are not demanding any dowry. If they file a case get a lawyer and hand over all the proofs, hope it never comes to that
