1. I am a Non-gezatted employee of govt of india. My salary for the last 3 consecutive years is as under

Please inform me whether my son who is appearing for IIT entrance examination to be conducted in june 2013 is elligible for availing reservation under OBC quota (NON CREAMY LAYER).

The government has continued its appeasement policy for India's Other Backward Classes (OBCs). In a bid to increase the number of beneficiaries getting reservation under the OBC quota, the government has enhanced the ceiling for applying the 'creamy layer' restriction on "socially advanced persons". The Union Cabinet gave its approval for increase in the present income criterion of Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum for applying the Creamy Layer restriction throughout the country to Rs. 6 lakh per annum.
