employee termination

Now a days It usually happens in the company that company hires a employee with good package.. at that time employee is new to business and with no experience.. after probation period/sometime employee leaves the job... so now in that case what can be done by employer?  can he ask him for both 3 months salary + 1 month notice period... ? Is it that employer can not tell him to do both 3months salary+1 month notice?.. what other things can be done?

I think it is better if the terms and conditions are put in an agreement form so that in case the employee leaves the job, the employer will not be put to loss. We have seen cases where the employee will get the training for a year or two at the expense of the employer and then leave the job within specified time. In that case if there is agreement signed by the employee, then employer can sue him at the court for compensation specified.
