Error in property registration!

Hi,

My father had purchased the flat which i currently reside in, in 1978. And in the amnesty scheme i paid the stamp duty according to what was applicable.

My problem is, that, my flat is 650sq.ft and has been wrongly registered as 410 sq. ft.
How do I rectify this?

THanks

Kashif

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. Really appreciate it!

What I would like to know is, do I have to pay the stamp duty for 240 sq.ft ( extra missed area) as per todays rate. Because that comes up to a huge amount. Is there any other way to sort out this mess because its only an error.

Also, what could be the reprecussions if I let it be 410 sq.ft. Will it affect me, if I hv to sell the flat or if the building goes in for redevelopment.

Thanks
Kashif
