I have rented my house for 11 month agreement starting from March 2012 thru Jan 31, 2013 in Mettupalayam , Coimbatore City for a businessman. Verbally he agreed to pay rent in cash. But now he is saying that he will pay rent only in cheque and also he needs a receipt for it. Otherwise he will not pay rent hereafter.
Is it advisable to accept cheque and give a receipt to tennant? Will it create any furthur problems? Please advise.
