How much interest can bank charge on a npa cc account.

Hi Everyone,

My father has taken home loan of 10 lacs and 17 lacs for CC for business purposes in 2008.

The account became NPA in 2010 and case was registered with DRT in 2010 whose result in due in 2016.

According to bank records the current interest + principal on the account stands at 55 lacs.

And the bank officals and the management are being very rude as the property value is well above 55 lacs in current scenario.

I have basic questions which I would like opinon on,

1. How much interest can DRT ask to bank charge on NPA of such kind.

2. My family suffered huge losses in theft which lead to NPA ( well recorded in public domain ) but the bank don't listen to this kind of arguments.

3. The banks in the past have issued OTS schemes but they never infromed us.

4. If the delay in judgement is due to DRT hearing and it's judgement has lead to this high amount of interest why should the borrower solely suffer.

5. I firmly belive that the banks have not been listening to the arguments made by us, Hence what are our options of appealing the DRT decison.

Please respond with your opinions.

Thanks you for reading.

When the case is with DRT, let the DRT decide the Bank prayers and your submissions.  DRT considers several points including capacity, deliberate acts, submissions of respondents etc.

When the case is referred to DRT, the respondents can submit all those arguments to DRT and it is the concerned Judge that has to decide the veracity in statements of respondents.

Opinions do not count and it is too late.
