Free movement anywhere in India is a Constitutional Right. In many High Courts PIL was filed against the "TOLL" collected on roads and the cases were transferred to Suprime Court on SC order.
I would like to find the present status of this pending PIL but I do not have any details. I have only read in News Papers that the cases are transfered to SC on order.
May any learned lawer help in locating the position of this PIL in SC?
To my knowledge this "TOLL" is chalanged under consititutional basis plus on the argument that Central and many State Governments are collecting Rs. 2/- per liter for road development for center plus additional amounts ranging from 1 to 1.75 Rs. by States. If this money is available then why "TOLL"
Members may help me in placing RTI if only news paper news is sufficient to locate the case.
I am paying this "TOLL" right in the limit of Municipal Corporation Limit to go 10 Km away @ rate 18 + 18 return as monthly charges are costly.
Help to bring this case up in "Q" will be appriciated.
