Is Public apathy behind failure of implementation of law?

Dear Friends,

It is a general perception that laws are flouted regularly by people. Laws are honoured more in breach than in compliance. Smoking in public places, talking on the mobile while driving and jumping red lights are a few instances. We have become immune to the legal system. Do you agree? Please comment.

Thanks

peoples r breaking the laws instead of obeying it. Its amezing to understand. Interdepenence of people is an outstanding fact of society. Common needs of individual may be satisfied by mutual assistance and exchange by services.

At these era no one is taking this into consideration. Crimes are increased day by days. Criminal justice system trying to activate its power but people opined different views.

No way.

yes sir, u are right sir.

it is human tedency to adopt wrong thinks more easily than good ones. And in todays world people prefer to take easier path rather than to take some pains. So violation of law is increasing now a days.

I totally disagree. It is the law enforcement agencies that are breaking the law. You can say it is a two way traffic. Then why blame the public? When posting of a mere police constable is auctioned for lacs of rupees, what do you expect public to do? And then when caught, law says get the sanction to prosecute him. What a joke?

Koda? is he an example of public apathy?

Neera madam! We all know these facts. You tell how can we solve this human tendancy. You are a lecturer so can teach more vigorously then all of use. It is of no use just to define the violations rather suggesting any concrete steps to stop all such open violation of law.

It is not that our eyes are closed. The fact is that we don't want to see beyond our nose. We need a revolution of the kind narrated here.

Singapore is a microstate and the smallest nation in Southeast Asia. It is substantially larger than Monaco and Vatican City, the only other surviving sovereign city-states.

She is just 17 sq.km. bigger than Mumbai and is now the hub of international economic activity.

Lee Kuan Yoo who became the Prime Minister did not mince words. Most of us make a beeline for Singapore as tourists. What he did was

Spit on the road – throw into jail

Litter garbage – throw into jail

Traffic offence – throw into jail

Spit on the road – throw into jail

Pee on roadside – throw into jail

Theft of electricity – throw into jail

Ask for speed money – throw into jail

No uniform – throw into jail

No response to public complaints – throw into jail

Throw cigarette but – throw into jail

He knew only one thing – THROW INTO JAIL.

He knew that the kind of democracy (say licence) won’t work and he ruled with iron hand. The result: COMPLETE DEMOCRACY IN REAL SENSE. Today, Singapore is the envy of many developed countries.

He ruled irrationally to make Singaporeans rational. For a city state of 4.9 million population, the GDP has soared to 239.146 billion Singapore Dollars (one SGD = Rs.33.67) in 2008.

It is the law that rules there. Police is not the concubine of political masters.

Today, a constable escorting Health Minister and Health Secretary of Tamil Nadu was attacked and lay bleeding and dying on the road. They did not come out of their cars what to talk of transporting him to the hospital.

RESULT. He died.

CONCLUSION: We talk of public apathy and they represent us. They need to be tied up with the nearest lamp post and flogged.

Administration and police are the biggest failure, which has led to this situation. It is lack of control, otherwise it is very easy to streamline Indian people. Same country, same system, only a Supdt. of Police is sufficient to make a difference. When naxals call bandhs, what they do? They simply paste a hand written poster, rest of the work media does. Result even Indian Railway  cacells all the trains. No buses, no vehicles runs. Everywhere complete standstill. Only a hand written poster does this. Why?

Rathore's bail is rejected and he is still walking free. How can police arrest its ex-boss? And we talk of law, justice and judiciary.
