Issue with a chennai lawer

I have put a case in a Chennai court against a builder who occupied my land. I think I have chosen a wrong lawyer to conduct the case. He took some money from me initially saying it was for court fee to get injunction but now I came to know that he paid only one third of it to the court. Rest went to his pocket I think. He also not co-operating with me properly, not explaining the situation, and not answering my questions.

I would like to go for a good lawyer but only after knowing what exactly going on in the court. How and what to ask (in technical terms) to know my case status? (like how many hearing happened so far, how many my lawyer attended, and where are we now so on so forth)

Lawyers, I am only seeking advice at the moment so please do not put forward you contact details. Thanks for your help. It is very much appreciated.

Even if some one puts their contact details you are under no obligation to call them-- right.

Why do you think advocates will give you free advice.

:)

I have seen good advice from lot of lawyers here but some them (very few) spoiling the thread by passing their personal contact details. I thought it was widely known as advertisement which is morally against the aim of this forum.
