There is no law that compels/force anyone (male/female) to work for a living. Those who wanted independent living with sound financial strength or those who are interested to contribute to the society/country or to learn or to pass time, they may opt for such employment. Those who are having independent views and those who can not withstand the bossism and work within a system frame may not work treating their self-respect as a priority. For some, there may not be any necessity, as their needs are properly taken care of. While granting maintenance, the court considers these qualifications of spouse also.
