Marriage in same gotra

want to marry a girl in same caste and same gotra , i m from u.p. we are from different villeges from same disst, in u.p , can i marry her?

I think you are Hindu. in Hindu religion, the same gotra is objectable.

Nolrmally mrriages in Hindu religion to same gotra girl is prohibited. But if the custom permits in both the girl and boys families you can go ahead with the marriage.If you apprecoiate this answer convey my forum thanks by clicking thanks button.

If there are no close relationship, gotras may not play a part in marriages. Get a Registered marriage or Temple in a marriage as there is no legal issue involved.

Yes you can marry her , marriage in same gotra is not prohibited by the Hindu law and by Hindu marriage act.

Hindu Marriage Act and Special Marriage Act does not prohibit marriage in the same gotra and same caste marriage. Only sapinda relationship is prohibited. If the girl does not related to you from your father and mother side, then you are free to marry her and get the marriage registered.
