Your appointment letter has to be perused qua its terms and conditions.

Contact the Labour Inspector of your area for proper guidance if there is a record of such attendance or any record that states working hours for more than 8 hours in a day with half an hour lunchtime.  They have the powers to conduct inspections and book such cases of violations.

As per your query, let me inform you that according to the Minimum Wages Act, the working day of an adult worker shall be so arranged that inclusive of the interval of rest it shall not exceed 12 hours on any day.

Moreover, the new ammendments made by the Government recently (which had to take effect since April 1, 2021), the working hours can be exceeded upto 12 hours. Though, there's no recent update whether the revision has been implemented or not.

Regardless, of this any increase in working conditions had to be informed to all the employees via official notice. So incase there's no updated notice provided to you (or anyone else), have a look at the appointment letter that was awarded to you in the first place as it would be containing all the information that can help you to understand the details about the working conditions in your office.

In order to attain more specific details regarding the same you may proceed to consult a local labour inspector of your area, as advised by Mr G.L.N. Prasad.

Hope It Helps!

Any suggestion depends upon the law under which the firm is registered.
