Thanks to all of you who contribute to this excellent forum.
I am planning to buy agriculture land in karnataka in my fathers name but as per karnataka land act only agriculturist/Farmers can buy agriculture land. My Grand father who was a farmer, along with his 4 brothers held a small piece of 0.5 acres jointly. This land is the registered with the tahsildars/revernue department etc.
My question is.. On the basis of my grandfathers joint holding of this land, Will my father become eligible to buy agriculture land in karnataka?? Fyi, My father is retired and hasnt had any source of income for the past 7 years.
Would appreciate any feedback.
