The accused can very well terminate the vakalatnama given to his lawyer and engage a new lawyer if the previous one is not cooperating

The accused can proceed party-in-perso. But that is no excuse for the proceedings to delayed.

Replace such lawyer immediately.

The accused the option to appoint a new lawyer or request the court for the appointment of a lawyer or to proceed party-in-person. However, there could be nor stalemate in the trial.
