Every month police comes to our showroom and ask for petty case expense and collects 200-300/- from all shop keepers in the market without any offences and without giving receipts. Is this acceptable by law. They also say that its mandatory to pay.
Illustrative working:
Collecting from 100(on a average)shops in a street * 250 ( Average) = Rs.25000 per month per street

If you have CCTV, then you must be having recording also. This is hafta vasooli by the police. If there is Lokayukta in your state, complain in writing. If there is Anti corruption department, complain to them in writing. If you dont have CCTV, make video over mobile and nab the bribe taker.
